Install ACR

Presets in the Latest Version of Photoshop ACR (Version 21+)

ACR

Installing XMP presets into ACR is quick and easy:

  1. Download your presets in XMP format. They will come as a .zip file (do not unzip it).
  2. Open Adobe Photoshop and load any image. This can be a JPEG or RAW file.
  3. In the top menu, click Filter → Camera Raw Filter to open Adobe Camera Raw.

ACR Quick Installation:

4. In the Camera Raw window, go to the Presets tab on the right toolbar. It’s the icon with two overlapping circles.

5. In the Presets tab, click the "..." menu and select Import Profiles & Presets..

6. Select the full .zip file(s) you downloaded (these contain your XMP presets), then click Open to import. Once imported, your presets will appear in organized folders under the Presets section.
7. To use your new presets, expand the folder using the arrow on the left. Click on any preset to apply it, or hover over options to preview the look. When you’re ready, click OK at the bottom of the Camera Raw window to continue editing in Photoshop.

Mac Users Note: If Safari is automatically unzipping your XMP files and they appear greyed out in ACR:

To fix this and import the .zip file properly in ACR:
  1. Open Safari
  2. Click Preferences
  3. Under the General tab, uncheck “Open ‘safe’ files after downloading”
Then re-download your presets and import the full .zip file using Import Profiles & Presets... in ACR.

Manual Installation Method

For this method, you’ll download your presets in XMP format from your downloads page. These will come as a compressed .zip file. You’ll need to unzip the file first so you can copy the XMP presets into your Adobe Camera Raw Settings folder.

To get started, locate your download and unzip it:

Windows: Right-click the file and select Extract All
Mac: Double-click the file to unzip it (Safari may automatically do this)

Once unzipped, open the folder and locate the folder that contains your XMP presets. Copy this folder, or keep it open for the next step.

Next, locate your Camera Raw Settings folder on your computer:

Mac: Users > Your Name > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Camera Raw > Settings
Windows:
C: Users > Your Name > AppData > Roaming > Adobe > Camera Raw > Settings
or Application Data > Adobe > Camera Raw > Settings

Paste your presets folder into the Settings folder.

Mac tip: If you don’t see the Library folder, open Finder, click Go in the top menu, then select Go to Folder and paste:
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Camera Raw/Settings
